Espresso Machines

Choose an espresso machine around the drinks you make and the preparation you want to do yourself. Compare manual espresso preparation, bean-to-cup convenience and capsule or pod systems before narrowing down a model.

Choosing espresso machines

Start with the workflow. A machine that uses a portafilter asks different things of you than one that grinds and brews automatically. For milk drinks, compare the actual milk system and its cleaning routine rather than the number of drink names alone. Check the exact model's power requirements, water supply and dimensions before planning its place on your counter.

Read condition and package contents separately. A listing for a refurbished machine, an accessory kit or a machine-and-grinder bundle should make clear what you are buying. A familiar brand name does not establish which accessories or warranty apply to a particular listing.

Does every espresso machine need a separate grinder?

No. Check whether the selected machine has an integrated grinder, takes ground coffee, or uses a specified capsule or pod system. Match the coffee format to the machine rather than buying the two independently.

Is a flow-control accessory the same as an espresso machine?

No. A flow-control kit is an accessory for particular equipment. Confirm whether a listing is a complete machine or a separately sold component.
