Coffee residue, milk residue and mineral scale are different cleaning tasks. Choose a product intended for the task and approved for your equipment.
Coffee oils and residue
Espresso cleaners address coffee residue in suitable parts and cleaning cycles. Only backflush a machine if the manufacturer permits it, using the specified method and cleaner.
Milk-contact components
A milk-system cleaner addresses milk residue. Follow the equipment and cleaner instructions for compatible materials, dilution, rinsing and any automated cleaning cycle.
Grinder care
Check the grinder manual before using cleaning tablets. Urnex Grindz is for compatible stand-alone burr grinders and is not for the integrated grinder of a super-automatic machine. Do not assume an espresso cleaner belongs in a grinder.
Mineral scale
Descaling is separate from removing coffee oils. Follow the machine manufacturer’s water-treatment and descaling guidance; the right approach depends on the equipment and water.
