Choosing tampers & distribution

Check the specified base diameter when selecting a tamper and the mounting requirements of an integrated automatic model. A dosing cup or funnel helps transfer grounds; it is not a complete portafilter. Adjustable tools need the settings and supported range stated for the exact product.

Is a distribution tool the same as a tamper?

No. Check the tool's stated function. Distributing grounds and compressing the coffee bed are different preparation steps.

Will an automatic tamper fit under any grinder?

Integrated models can have specific grinder and mounting requirements. Match the exact equipment combination before ordering.

Match a dosing funnel to its seating

A dosing funnel helps guide grounds into a basket; it does not replace a tamper. Check its listed dimensions and the way it seats on the portafilter. The holder shown in an accessory photograph is not included unless the contents explicitly say so.
